What is our problem?
Our problem is the amount of food waste at catered meetings and events at schools. We believe that there is too much food that goes to the trash when we have events at schools. The amount of food being served is way too much in comparison to the amount of people attending.
Stage One of the Problem |
Stage two of the problem |
Stage Three of the Problem |
The food is ordered for the meeting. The problem with this is simply that when the food is ordered, it is ordered for 50 people because that is who is attending. Yet, only 25 of the people plan to eat.
|
When the food is ordered you realize that it is too much food but you can not take the foo back. So you put the food out for everyone to dish from it and pick at it.
|
Once the meeting is over you are left with half of the food you started with. You can not donate it because most places do not want perishable food. You can't give it away because no one wants what has been picked at. So, the next thing that comes to anyone’s mind is to throw it in the trash to get rid of it.
